3. Dstinguish between lentic and lotic ecosystems. write down the important ecological attributes of a riverne ecosystem. 2+5-7
4. what are the special characteristics ot a desert ecosystem? Mention the ecological adaptations as seen in case or plants and animals living in desert areas. 3+2+2—7

UNIT—Ill 

5. Define food chain. with the help of a sketch diagram, explain how it differs from food web. 2+5—7

9. Define biogeochemical cycle. Describe oxygen cycle with suitable sketches.
10. What are the types and basic patterns of biogeochemical cycle? Give an account of nitrogen cycle.
